Executive Clergy Assistant

Reports to: Senior Rabbi
Hours: Full-Time Non-Exempt Position

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Senior Rabbi
    • Calendar management and planning
    • Manage schedule and arrangements for clergy-led areas, including worship and programs
    • Coordinate meetings and appointments with congregants, B’nai Mitzvah students and families, and others
    • Manage communication, including mail, email, telephone calls and voice mail
  • Manage ritual-related communications
    • Address special Kaddish and Yahrzeit requests
    • For lifecycle events, enter pastoral care matters in data management platform
  • Ongoing administrative work
    • Meet with Senior Rabbi as needed
    • Attend weekly staff meetings
    • Prepare weekly Shabbat program
    • Coordinate with Cantor to be sure weekly B’nai Mitzvah needs (certificate, Kiddush cup) are provided
    • Prepare weekly Shabbat information for including Kaddish and Shloshim lists
    • Prepare and send Yahrzeit letters
  • Budgeting and Accounting
    • Provide support to Senior Rabbi for budget management; assist with expense report process
    • Coordinate paperwork for bookkeeping admin for Senior Rabbi expenses and other engagements at the Senior Rabbi’s direction and under the guidance of the Executive Director
  • Technology, Marketing & Communications
    • Collaboratively identify information for synagogue communications, including death notices and send to Communications Manager
  • Support colleagues in a team environment using a collegial and cooperative manner
Skills/Experience/Education
  • College degree strongly preferred
  • Detail oriented, highly organized with excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Office/Google Suite; familiar with Slack, ShulCloud, and Notebird preferred
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Understanding of how to work with volunteers
Salary & Benefits
  • Compensation of $65K, commensurate with experience
  • TSTI’s Medical insurance policy for employee paid by employer
  • Paid time off, based on tenure with the organization
  • Schedule: 9:00 am – 5 pm, with flexibility to provide assistance on occasional nights and/or weekends

3rd & 4th Grade Religious School Teachers 2022-23

Reports to: Director of the Religious School

Our Religious School is welcoming new staff this fall. A love of Judaism, a  desire to teach and spend time with young people is a must. Some experience is preferred. We will provide an amazing mentoring program. The collegial support is here at TSTI is like no other!

Hours: Tuesday afternoons 4-6 pm and Sunday morning from 9-11:30 am. (You must be available for both days.)

Pay is $61.00 an hour.
