DESCRIPTION:The Jewish responses and rituals that take us through mourning and arrive at a place of healing. When death inevitably enters our lives\, Jewish wisdom and ritual can help us cope with heartbreak and loss\, the anguish of why suffering exists. We will also seek to understand the big questions of what Judaism says about life after death and its understanding of messianic times. Just in America we have Jews belonging to different denominations or not connecting Jewishly at all. Once we expand beyond the borders of our country the makeup of the Jewish community becomes even more complex. \nThis is nothing new. In antiquity your community was just as fragmented and it is the interplay between different Jewish groups that gave rise to Rabbinic Judaism as we know it.
