TSTI is so proud to have FOUR teens/young adults competing in the Maccabiah Games this summer!

Three TSTI teens will be competing at the 2022 JCC Maccabiah Games in San Diego. In addition, Cecilia Muñoz, a rising senior at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, will be playing on Team USA’s soccer team at the 2022 World Maccabiah Games in Israel.

We wish all of them luck!

Cousins Zane Merriweather and Noah Fontil, along with friend Lucca Bruno, will be traveling to San Diego to participate in the 2022 JCC Maccabiah Games with Team Central Jersey. All three previously participated in the Mini-Maccabi Games prior to the pandemic, where they won a Gold medal.

Lucca has been playing soccer since he was 3 years old (he started with coach Nate by the Hilton Library!). He’s currently on SFL with Zane and both boys are going to the Red Bulls soccer camp this summer, too.

Noah has been playing soccer since he was 4. He currently plays for Ironbound Soccer Club and is looking forward to soccer tryouts for Columbia High School this summer. His favorite team is Manchester United.

Zane attended his first soccer class at 2 years old and started playing soccer on a team at 3 years old—so he’s been playing for 10 plus years.

Ceci will be playing in the Maccabi Games in Israel this summer as a part of Team USA. Specifically, she will be on the women’s soccer team in the Open age group (which is the main competitive age group).

Ceci has been playing soccer since she was a little kid, for over a decade now. She played while at Columbia High School, where she was varsity captain her senior year, and was a part of the club team TSF in NJ. She now plays forward on the varsity women’s soccer team at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

“I am so excited to be representing my country this summer at the Maccabi Games. I am so grateful to be able to play the sport I love while exploring my culture and the country of Israel this July.” — Ceci
