Taste of Mussar
Facilitator: Rabbi Klein
A history and overview of this virtues-based approach to Jewish ethics and character development.
Rabbi Israel Salanter was famous for teaching that if you want to change the world, you have to begin with changing yourself. He believed that this could be done through mussar: a Jewish spiritual discipline which seeks to improve one’s character through study, reflection, and mindfulness.
If you’re curious to see what Mussar is about, join us for a quick taste in this class, where we’ll learn about the Jewish roadmap for tikkun middot: aligning ourselves with our innate holiness so that we can build a better world.
